Topic: Managing Osteoarthritis in Dogs and Cats: Advanced Joint Injection Therapies with a Focus on Novel Targeted Synovial Therapies

Presented by: Wendy N. Byrd, DVM, CCRT, CVAT, is an Assistant Clinical Professor at Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine’s Animal Emergency and Referral Center in Flowood, MS, where she has led the Animal Rehabilitation Service since 2020.

Time: 6 pm arrival & cocktails; 7 pm presentation begins

This 1-hour continuing education course explores the management of osteoarthritis (OA) in canine and feline patients, emphasizing evidence-based strategies for alleviating pain and improving mobility. Participants will review the etiology, clinical presentation, and diagnostic approaches to OA in companion animals, followed by an in-depth discussion of targeted treatment options.

Special attention will be given to intra-articular joint injections, including their mechanisms, techniques, and outcomes. The course highlights novel innovative targeted therapies focused on the synovium, offering minimally invasive alternatives for cases refractory to traditional therapies. Attendees will gain practical insights into integrating these advanced modalities into clinical practice to optimize patient outcomes.
