CT, or computed tomography, is a computer-processed combination of radiograph images taken from different angles to produce cross-sectional images of a specific area. These images are highly detailed 1-3 mm slices throughout the area of interest.
Animal Imaging is one of the few locations utilizing a skull CT in a standing patient. Uniquely adapted equipment allows our staff to use sedation rather than general anesthesia to acquire images.
One of our Board-Certified Radiologists will review all the images and submit a final report within 24-48 hours of the CT. The report and clinical findings will then be sent to the referring veterinarian and client. Clients should follow-up with the referring veterinarian for an explanation of results and information on treatment or management.
